What is the Dressmaker Game?
The Dressmaker Game is a small, cosy simulation about running a dressmaker's boutique. Clients arrive with a brief — a librarian who needs something appropriate for work, a guest invited to an evening ball at the duke's mansion — and it is your job to turn that brief into a dress that actually satisfies them.
What separates it from a dress-up game is that you do every step by hand. The pattern pieces have a grain direction that has to line up with the weave. The fabric is a finite length you can waste. The seams are sewn in a small rhythm mini-game where a steady needle scores better than a fast one. All of it feeds a final score, and the client either accepts the dress or does not.
The four stages of a commission
1. Sketchbook
Choose a bodice, skirt, sleeve and collar, then drag fabric swatches onto the page. The tags shown are an estimate of your design's style scores.
2. Cutting room
Lay every pattern piece on the fabric, rotate it until the grain line is straight, then cut. Pieces you place badly cost quality; fabric you waste is gone.
3. Mannequin & sewing
Assemble the cut pieces on the mannequin and sew each seam. Stitching accuracy is half of the quality score.
4. The fitting
Deliver the dress at the front desk. Beat the quality target and every required style tag to earn gold, unlock new fabrics and build your reputation.
About this browser port
This is a faithful port of the original Dressmaker (针影裁梦) built to run in WebGL. It uses the original game's own artwork, audio, garment patterns and scoring formulas, so the Dressmaker Game you play here behaves the way the original does.
Nothing needs installing and there is no login. The game's art and audio only start downloading once you press Play, which keeps this page fast to open.
